Over Sure Start Children’s Centres North Halifax Partnership covers the areas of Illingworth, Mixenden, Ovenden, Northowram & Shelf and parts of Pellon. Holywell Green, Elland, Rastrick and Brighouse.
There are 10 Children’s Centres and a Core Services team based within these areas. The following services are on offer:-
- Good quality learning combined with full day care provision for children aged 0-5
- Daycare Policies and Procedures
- Child and Family Health Services, including Antenatal Services
- Parental Outreach
- Family Support Services
- Support for Childminders
- Support for Children and Parents with Special Needs
- Effective links with Job Centre Plus to support parents and carers who wish to consider Training and Employment
- Drop in sessions and other activities for children and carers at all centres
- Termly Programme of Activities for Parents/Families
- Activities for Families during School Holidays

Start volunteering! 7 October – This FREE event is open to anyone thinking about volunteering in North Halifax
Volunteering is a really rewarding way to use your spare time. There are many people, charities and group who could benefit from your support.
For some people volunteering offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them.
For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge.
There are loads of challenging and rewarding opportunities to volunteer in North Halifax, no matter what you’re into!
Our next Volunteer North Halifax Workshop is on
Wednesday 7 October 2015 at Threeways Centre, Ovenden
This FREE event is open to anyone thinking about volunteering in North Halifax.
The morning workshop will be an interactive session for new volunteers where you will reflect on your own interests and skills and think about the sort of organisation you’d like to volunteer for, the activities you’d like to get involved in, and how much time you can offer.
After lunch the Volunteer Market Place will open and you will be able to meet local organisations, talk to existing staff and volunteers and find out how to get involved.

We are looking for Breastfeeding Peer Supporters to volunteer 2-3 hours per week in our Children’s Centres in North & East Halifax and Lower Valley and we are recruiting now!

We have daycare places available in some of our Lower Valley Children’s Centres. Full daycare for parents/carers who are looking to return to work or training and FREE early education places available for 2 year olds (subject to eligibility), 3 and 4 year olds.
