An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Family Support Team in North and East Halifax for a Senior Family Support Worker. The main duties of the role are to work closely with the Senior Family Support Manager and the Family Support Manager to ensure the effective delivery of the services. You will supervise an agreed number of staff who support families and work with colleagues and other professionals to ensure there is effective multi agency working to improve the lives of parents/carers and their children.

You will need substantial experience of working with families with complex needs and appropriate decision making and experience of supervising or mentoring staff, students or volunteers. You will also need up to date knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and an ability to offer advice and support to staff in relation to this.

You will need to hold a relevant Level 4 qualification or be working towards it with a commitment to successfully completing this within the first 12 months of employment

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Lower Valley Family Support Team. This post is suitable for experienced practitioners who are dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families.  You will need substantial experience of paid work in supporting families, as well as experience of working within Child Protection guidelines. You will also be able to demonstrate that you have worked alongside other agencies to provide tailored support to families including being part of the Early Intervention Single Assessment. Sure Start Children’s Centre North Halifax Partnership have sessional members of staff who are available to work and cover when they are required. Sure Start use sessional members of staff to cover during staff absences, long term sickness and maternity cover.

This type of work may suit your lifestyle- there are no set hours. It is casual work based on your availability.

This covers all areas of work – Administration, Reception, Childcare, Cook, Cleaner, Caretaker and Domestic.
