The Creations Community Children’s Centre includes a friendly nursery provision. Our aim is to provide a happy and safe environment for children to develop to their full potential. We believe that early childhood is the foundation for a child’s journey through life. Each stage of development and learning should be valued and respected in its own right.

We welcome all children aged birth to 5 years and endeavour to meet their individual needs.

We are registered with the Local Authority and OFSTED accredited. The nursery operates under the umbrella of the Family Services, and is part of the North/East children’s Centre locality. We pride ourselves in working in partnership with parents/carers, local schools, professionals and the community.

The overall registration is for 49 children this is broken down into 9 children in our 0 – 2 years nursery room, 24 children in our 2 – 5 years nursery room and 16 places for our crèche provision.

The nursery meets the recommended child to adult ratio – 1 adult to 3 children aged 0 – 2 years, 1 adult to 4 children aged 2 – 3 years and 1 adult to 8 children aged 3 – years.

How We Work

It is our priority to make each child and their family feel welcome and valued from their first day onwards in order to do this we have a settling in procedure. On your initial visit you will meet your Keyworker. This is the person who you will have most contact with. Your Keyworker takes a special interest in your child and has specific duties. Some of these include:

Settling your child into nursery, being your main point of contact for all matters concerning your child’s well being, development, health and behaviour, keeping your child’s learning journey book up-to-date, this book makes a lovely keepsake for you to treasure in years to come and working in partnership with you to find solutions to any problems that might occur.

What You Need To Bring When Your Child Starts Nursery

Your child will sometimes get paint, food or glue on their clothes, so please send them in practical clothes, NOT best clothes.

1. A spare set of clothes because we play with water, paint etc.
2. Lots of spare underwear and socks if your child is toilet training
3. Nappies, baby wipes and nappy cream if your child requires them
4. A coat for outdoor play and wellington boots
5. In warm weather sunhat

For  young babies who are having milk in bottles we ask that you bring their feeds in a pre-measured container with a sterilised bottle as we will make up bottles of milk fresh when needed.
