Innovations Children’s Centre
Innovations are pleased to become one of the first children’s centres in the country to receive a prestigious award for food education.
In September 16 they were presented with the Soil Association Food For Life award.
The Soil Association’s Food for Life Early Years Award is an independent endorsement for nurseries and children’s centres that serve good quality, nutritious food and support the babies and children in their care to develop good eating habits for life. Evidence shows that eating habits form early, and good nutrition plays a crucial role in a child’s growth and cognitive development.
This award demonstrates that Innovations provide tasty, nutritious meals and provides an environment that encourages healthy choices. Innovations also support the development of good food habits for life through practical cooking and growing activities.
The staff are passionate about food and through the award have developed an understanding of the impact that the lack of the right type of foods can have on children’s learning and health.
