Innovations Children’s Centre had an Ofsted inspection in January and we were delighted to be awarded an outcome of ‘outstanding’ in all areas.
We are very pleased with the outcome of the report and the very many positive things that it endorses as far as the life of our nursery is concerned.
Key findings that the Ofsted inspector documented are:-
- ‘Staff constantly strive for excellence in improving the lives of children’.
- ‘Staff are extremely skilled in supporting children to flourish in their communication and language skills’.
- ‘Children’s individual needs are met exceptionally well’.
- ‘Exemplary partnerships with an extensive range of professionals support a highly successful joined up approach to supporting children’s development’.
- ‘They display an exceptional commitment to improving children’s health’.

Innovations is a 58 place day nursery consisting of the Baby room, Toddler room and Pre School room.
The staff team at Innovations are dedicated in ensuring each child receives the best start in life whilst encouraging them in reaching their full potential in all areas of their learning and development.
Each child has a designated key person who ensures their key children’s needs are met. The key person develops and maintains close partnership working with families and together ensures their child’s learning and development is fully supported.
Each room at Innovations has the provision set out to enable the effective working of the early years foundation stage planning.
This provides the foundations for learning whilst meeting the needs of every child and developing close partnership working with families.
The provision at Innovations extends to the large outdoor area where children benefit from the many opportunities of outdoor play.
Our cosy baby room cater for 12 babies between the ages of 0-2 years, cared for by a team of 5 qualified staff members working on a 1 to 3 ratio.
This self contained room enables babies to play, eat and have their individual needs met in a safe and secure environment.
The baby room faces out onto our large outdoor play area and babies have free access to outdoor play throughout the day.
The baby team provides a warm welcome to all families and ensure that they support and work with families to help the babies reach their full potential. Each family is supported by their key person and families are invited to attend key person feedback sessions on a regular basis to ensure they are involved in their baby’s development and learning.
Throughout the days our babies will be offered a range of stimulating activities that develop baby’s sensory, physical and mental development.
Our busy Toddler room caters for 18 Toddlers between the ages of 18 months to 3 years, cared for by a team of 6 qualified staff members working on a 1 to 4 ratio.
This busy room enables Toddlers to have the opportunity to take part in creative, imaginative, physical, mental and quiet activities to develop their skills.
Toddlers focus on developing children’s self care skills such as toilet training, speech and language development and personal, social and emotional development.
Toddlers enjoy free access to our large outdoor play area and these busy children take full advantage of its many opportunities.
Our large Preschool room caters for 28 children between the ages of 3 to 5 years, cared for by a team of 6 qualified staff members working on a 1 to 8 ratio.
The team within this room helps develop children’s life skills and prepares them for their journey into school. Preschool staff work with children and their families to support them with the transition into school from start to finish.
Preschool children are encouraged to develop their independence skills and make choices for themselves throughout the day. Children are actively supported to develop their self care skills.
The children are encouraged to access all areas of the preschool room which is set out in areas to develop creative, IT, imaginative, mathematical and physical skills. Preschool children have free access to the outdoor area throughout the day and enjoy facing the challenges and learning new things that this area brings.
