Sarah Nursery is one of our Community Early Years Practitioners and facilitates the Baby and Toddler groups and Ready, Steady Nursery Groups in Halifax Lower Valley.
Sarah works closely with the Children Centres to provide focus sessions and home learning experiences. Sarah recently gained a level 3 in supporting children and young people’s speech and language and became a Language Champion to support children across Calderdale with their speech and language development.
The baby and toddler sessions, which Sarah facilitates, are for children aged 0-5 years across Elland, Rastrick and Brighouse. The activities are planned around the three prime areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and also around the children’s interests. The groups are very sensory based and each week there is something different for the babies to explore.
The Baby and Toddler Groups take place at the following:
Monday 9.30-11.00 Baby and Toddler group at Elland Children’s Centre
Monday 1.15-2.45 Baby and Toddler group and Ready, Steady Nursery at The Space Field Lane
Wednesday 10.00-11.30 Baby and Toddler group at Wellholme Park Children’s Centre
Sarah also runs the Ready, Steady Nursery group, which supports children (aged 2 years+) and their families with the transition to nursery/reception. Over a period of six weeks, there is a focus on helping the children become more independent in their health and self-care. Sarah also offers advice to parents/carers about toilet training, healthy eating and supporting speech and language development.

Friday 9.30-11.00 Ready, Steady Nursery at Cliffe Hill Community Primary School
