Sure Start Children’s Centres North Halifax Partnership covers the areas of Illingworth, Mixenden, Ovenden, Northowram & Shelf and parts of Pellon. Holywell Green, Elland, Rastrick and Brighouse. There are 10 Children’s Centres and a Core Services team based within these areas.
We are committed to providing a secure and supportive environment in which children can develop and grow; this includes embedding British Values into the curriculum and actively promoting these in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The following services are on offer:-
- Good quality learning combined with full day care provision for children aged 0-5
- Daycare Policies and Procedures
- Child and Family Health Services, including Antenatal Services
- Parental Outreach
- Family Support Services
- Support for Childminders
- Support for Children and Parents with Special Needs
- Effective links with Job Centre Plus to support parents and carers who wish to consider Training and Employment
- Drop in sessions and other activities for children and carers at all centres

Annual Consultation – ‘Your Views Matter’ 2015
The Annual Consultation has come around once again. It will take place W/c 7th – 18th December 2015, during this period whilst accessing our services you will be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire. This is your opportunity to say what you think (good or not so good) about the services we provide.
We would be really grateful if you would take the time to complete the questionnaire as your views are valuable to us and in return we will enter you into our £50 prize draw.
We are looking for Breastfeeding Peer Supporters to volunteer 2-3 hours per week in our Children’s Centres in North & East Halifax and Lower Valley and we are now recruiting!

Our Spring courses will be available to book soon, newsletters for January to you this week. Keep watching the Family Learning tab in Core Services for the list of courses and to book a place.
We have daycare places available in some of our Lower Valley Children’s Centres. Full daycare for parents/carers who are looking to return to work or training and FREE early education places available for 2 year olds (subject to eligibility), 3 and 4 year olds.
