“Hello! I am Beth Rimmington, a Senior Family Support Worker in Lower Valley and I have been working for North Halifax Partnership (NHP) for seven years. Seven years may not seem a lot to some of the veterans of NHP, but during this time I’ve gone from being an excitable 22-year-old not long out of university, to a much more understanding and well-rounded person and I truly have the team and the service to thank for that!
I feel really lucky to have a job in family support which is an area I am extremely passionate about. I worked front line with families for five years for NHP and have then moved into a senior post where I line manage Family Support and Parent Link Workers, however that doesn’t mean I still don’t get out and about supporting in the community covering parenting courses, supporting at events and occasionally taking on cases! I love the senior role as it is so varied; from building team plans and being part of the planning and development of services, to supporting staff to grow in their role and ensuring vulnerable families are fully supported.
Throughout my time at NHP, I have seen the service change for the better, for staff as well as service users which I’m sure has helped improve outcomes for many families. Family support can be accessed by any parent with a child between 0-18 (25 for SEN) through a simple referral form and we would be happy to speak to anyone who may want any more information. Visit our Family Support page to find out more.
Congratulations to Innovations Children’s Centre who have achieved the Dingley’s Promise Inclusion Friendly Setting – Mark of Achievement.
Dingley’s promise is a charity which has been commissioned by Comic Relief to deliver a training package to upskill early years staff in inclusive practice.
We are very proud of all the staff and the service they deliver to children and their commitment to quality inclusive practice.
On Tuesday 12th December we hosted the Lower Valley Christmas Party, our last event of the year! This was a universal event and all families across the Lower Valley reach area were invited to attend the event at Savage Hall in Elland. We had 65 attendees join in the fun with us as we partied and played games with Spike Bonzo! Spike was a fantastic entertainer with his amazing party skills and amusing singing voice!
We also had another VIP visitor – The one and only Mrs Claus! Accompanied by her special helper Ella Elf! Children and families were welcomed into our beautiful pop-up grotto, where each and every child received a special gift.
Alongside the entertainment we had a dedicated baby sensory area, bauble decorating, biscuit making, face painting and reindeer food stalls available for children and families to access. We also provided a free cold buffet for all attendees.
Here is some of the feedback we received:
“Fabulous Christmas Party, well organised, plenty of activities and Mrs Claus was AMAZING! Well done all involved and thank you.”
“We have loved this Christmas event. My eldest daughter loves the facepainting, decorating biscuits, crafts, seeing Mrs Claus and the magic show. And my youngest loved playing with the toys. It’s been amazing.”
“Once again really lovely, well organised event. Elsie loved Spike Bonzo! Thank you so much, we have both had a lovely time.”
“Lovely event, Zara enjoyed every minute. Nice to see families enjoying themselves, great way to meet new people. Thank you.”
“Really great event thank you. Lots of great fun activities and lovely party tea.”
A special thank you as always to our amazing staffing team who worked super hard behind the scenes in ensuring the event was a great success.
Also, a special thanks to Tesco Brighouse, Morrisons Elland and Asda Bradley for supporting the event and providing presents for all children who attended.

We are currently undergoing a transitional period as we prepare for a rebrand. Our Children’s Centres will now be known as Family Hubs, but they will continue to be operated by North Halifax Partnership. You will start to notice some changes and work in progress as we make these developments. We appreciate your understanding during this time and look forward to continuing to support our community through this exciting change!
