Welcome to Field Lane Nursery
Field Lane nursery is attached to Field Lane Primary School in the heart of the Rastrick community. The nursery offers term time only childcare for children aged 18 months – 5 years and also offers sessional day care for 2 year olds who are entitled to Free Early Years Education.
Here at Field Lane Nursery we believe that early childhood is the foundation for a child’s journey through life. Each stage of development and learning is valued and respected in its own right.
At Field Lane nursery, we fully understand what an anxious time it can be for any parent to return to work following the birth of a baby or to leave your child at nursery for the first time. Field Lane nursery endeavours to make choosing childcare a simple process, with parents feeling confident and comfortable to leave their child with a team of qualified and caring childcare professionals.
We operate a key person system within the nursery; your child’s key person will be your first point of contact. Our key person system ensures children’s individual needs, interests and passions for learning are observed and recorded to ensure we can effectively meet each child’s individual needs. Our secret to successful, strong relationships with our children and their parents/carers, will be through our settling in process, which includes a home visit, allowing parents the time to share information about their child.
Our nursery room offers a stimulating, safe and spacious environment where we support each child’s development to enable all children to thrive and learn. We also have a large secure outdoor play area which is accessible throughout the day.

What is Early Essence?
It is an online tool to record all our Children’s Centres use to record children’s development and produce assessments that are shared with parents.
Parents are able to securely log in online to access their child’s individual learning journey. Details of how to do this will be given to parents at the point of registration.
Within the learning journey parents are able to see picture, observations and video clips which are uploaded by Children’s Centre staff. They are also able to upload picture, video’s and comments to support their child’s learning and development at home.
If you are a parent whose child attends one of our nurseries you are able to access Early Essence using the following link. You will need your own personal log in details to do this.
We are open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 4.00pm. We close for Christmas, the New Year and Bank Holidays. We offer day and half day sessions.
Morning sessions run from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm
Afternoon sessions run from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm
