Intergenerational Project

We are excited to share with you the Intergenerational project some of our children at Kevin Pearce Children’s Centre have been involved in. This has been in partnership with Lee Mount Care Home and Little Movers Halifax.

The project involves the children visiting the Lee Mount residents and their pet turtles each month, taking part in music, dance and movement activities. Through observations carried out by our qualified staff, which are linked to the EYFS, the project has a huge impact and supports:

-life skills

-social skills, confidence, and self esteem

-respect

-empathy and understanding

-patience and turn taking

-positive physical and mental health

-understanding and learning about the wider community

-intergenerational FUN

We also had visitors from Lee Mount Care Home visit us for a special Valentines lunch. We are excited to continue being part of this intergenerational project, which has a huge positive impact on both our children and the older generation.
