Ash Green receive outstanding Ofsted rating

Ash Green, a Sure Start Children’s Centre provided by North Halifax Partnership, is celebrating an “Outstanding” ofsted report. The centre is based across two sites which means they receive two separate Ofsted inspections– on this occasion it was the 2-3 room based on the site of Ash Green Community Primary school.

Ofsted visited the centre on 1st November 2022. The inspector spent time taking to staff, children, parents and observing the room.

The inspector stated “Children strive in this stimulating environment and clearly enjoy their time in the setting, they happily enter the setting and quickly become engrossed in a range of activities. Children make rapid progress from their original starting points on entry and teaching is of a high quality”

The report goes on to say “staff have high expectations of what the children can achieve and are extremely proactive in getting any professional support in place quickly.”

Nicola Earnshaw, Children’s Centre Manager, said “I am very proud of all the staff at Ash Green Children’s Centre, their passion and hard work has paid off –  we just need to wait for the other site at Ash Green to be inspected now!”

Kevin Pearce Children’s Centre celebrate outstanding OFSTED report

Kevin Pearce, a Sure Start Children’s Centre provided by North Halifax Partnership, is celebrating a glowing Ofsted report. It has been rated ‘outstanding‘ by the education watchdog.

Ofsted visited the centre on Tuesday 6th October 2022. As the inspector drifted between the two nursery rooms and the outdoor area, they spoke to staff and gained feedback from parents as they dropped their children off at the centre.

The inspector’s report said: “Staff provide exceptional experiences for children to connect with the natural world. There is outstanding support in developing children’s speech and language skills. There is an exceptionally high team spirit in nursery. Staff report a high level of wellbeing.”

The Children’s Centre Manager commented, “I am extremely proud of my whole team and the outcome we achieved together. It was emotional listening to the positive feedback and nice that our team spirit was referenced.”

We are proud to be part of the ‘Welcome to Breastfeeding’ scheme

This means we will always provide a warm welcome to breastfeeding mothers.

The scheme is to raise awareness and recognise places across Calderdale where mums are welcomed and supported to breastfeed. The aim is to improve the health and well-being of local families.

We know mums have the legal right to breastfeed anywhere (2010 Equality Act). Though, many do not feel confident doing it in public. This scheme aims to make things easier. It will help you find where you will be welcomed when out and about in Calderdale.

For more information on other venues part of this scheme, please visit https://www.calderdale.gov.uk/…/breastfeed-calderdale
